{"id":349,"date":"2011-05-17T13:45:21","date_gmt":"2011-05-17T13:45:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.techivity.com\/?p=349"},"modified":"2011-05-17T13:45:21","modified_gmt":"2011-05-17T13:45:21","slug":"client-site-launch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.techivity.com\/?p=349","title":{"rendered":"Western Folklife Center: Joomla 1.5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Western Foklife Center\" href=\"http:\/\/www.westernfolklife.org\">Western Folklife Center<\/a> is a long-time client.\u00a0 When they first approached us in 2007, they were working with a store system that couldn&#8217;t handle their orders, using a content management solution that didn&#8217;t work for their needs and had trouble making any edits to their site.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.westernfolklife.org\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-370\" title=\"Western Foklife Center Joomla 1.5\" src=\"http:\/\/192.249.123.52\/~techiv6\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/WFC-J15a-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Western Folklife Center Joomla 1.5 Site\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We helped them evaluate open-source alternatives, plan a project to update their web site of over 900 pages, and migrated their web management system to Joomla 1.0 with VirtueMart for their store solution.\u00a0 Since then, we have updated their site to Joomla 1.5 and added a wide range of resources including Google Analytics, custom web forms and custom templates for both their main and their Cowboy Poetry Gathering microsite.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.westernfolklife.org\">Western Folklife Center<\/a> site is a good size site; over 850 pages, multiple integrated systems, 3 custom templates, photo galleries, forms systems and VirtueMart.\u00a0 Also, a microsite within Joomla that uses Joomla&#8217;s multiple template capabilities.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Western Folklife Center\" href=\"http:\/\/www.westernfolklife.org\">Western Folklife Center<\/a> is a really cool non-profit organization; they help archive, celebrate and store the folklore of the western United States.\u00a0 Their site includes cowboy poetry, exhibits, artwork, podcasts, radio shows and more.\u00a0 <a title=\"Western Folklife Center\" href=\"http:\/\/www.westernfolklife.org\">Go check &#8217;em out<\/a>!\u00a0 They are one of our on-going clients who has a contract with us for maintenance and management.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Western Folklife Center is a long-time client.\u00a0 When they first approached us in 2007, they were working with a store system that couldn&#8217;t handle their orders, using a content management solution that didn&#8217;t work for their needs and had trouble making any edits to their site.
